How to apply

Your path to Antigua & Barbuda citizenship.

All applications go through a licensed agent authorised by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU), from your first documents to your Certificate of Registration.

    Among the available pathways for Antigua & Barbuda citizenship, the National Development Fund (NDF) contribution option provides a straightforward route for eligible applicants seeking citizenship without purchasing or managing an investment asset.

    Gather & complete application forms & documents

    You’ll need to fill out specific forms such as:

    And supporting documents
    • Passports
    • Birth certificates
    • Police certificates (for all places lived ≥ 6 months since age 18)
    • Proof of address, bank statements, proof of funds/wealth, etc.

    Your application

    Submit application & due diligence

    • The agent will submit your full application package to CIU.
    • CIU will review your application and documents.
    • Additional info may be requested.
    • Sometimes interviews may be required.
    The background checks (due diligence) assess criminal record, source of funds, etc.

    Approval & citizenship

    Receive letter of approval / final payment and issuance of citizenship

    Letter of Approval

    Once the application is approved, a Letter of Approval is issued. The applicant then settles the remaining applicable fees and completes the required investment or contribution.

    Citizenship Registration

    Once all required payments and the investment or contribution are confirmed, a Certificate of Registration of Citizenship is issued, after which the applicant can proceed with the passport application.

    Oath & Visit Requirement

    The required Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance can be completed in Antigua & Barbuda or, where applicable, through the Antigua & Barbuda diplomatic or consular representation in Dubai.

    Citizens by investment are also required to spend at least 5 days in Antigua & Barbuda within the first five years of citizenship.
