All applications must be submitted through a licensed agent. These agents are authorized by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU).
They will guide you, help assemble your documents, and act as your liaison with the CIU.
Decide which investment route you’ll use (e.g. National Development Fund, Real Estate, Business Investment, University Fund) depending on your finances, timeline, and goals.
You’ll need to fill out specific forms such as:
Form AB1 (Application)
AB2 (Photo & Signature)
AB3 (Medical Certificate)
AB4 (Investment Confirmation)
And supporting documents: passports, birth certificates, police certificates (for all places lived ≥ 6 months since age 18), proof of address, bank statements, proof of funds/wealth, etc.
The agent will submit your full application package to CIU. Initial fees include the due diligence fee (for each applicant over a certain age) and typically 10% of the government processing fee.
If approved, you’ll get a Letter of Approval. After that, you’ll pay remaining fees (balance of government processing fee, passport fee, and make your investment or contribution depending on the option selected).
Over the past number of years, the Dominican government has been successfully working to expand its list of Visa-free countries.
