Step 1: Preparing Your Application

Before you can submit your application, you’ll need to gather several important documents. The most common documents required include:

• Valid passports and birth certificates for all applicants.

• Police clearance certificates from your country of residence, to confirm your criminal record.

• Medical reports that show you are in good health.

• Proof of family relationships if you are including dependents in your application.

• Background information to pass due diligence checks (e.g., financial records, employment history).

This phase is typically the most time-consuming, as gathering these documents may take a few weeks depending on how quickly you can secure them.

Step 2: Submission and Initial Review

Once you’ve compiled all the necessary documentation, your application is submitted to Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU). The CIU will perform a preliminary review to ensure everything is complete and in order. If anything is missing, you may be asked to provide additional documentation.

This initial review typically takes 1–2 weeks.

Step 3: Due Diligence and Background Checks

This is where the process gets most rigorous. During this phase, the CIU works with international partners to perform due diligence checks. The focus is on verifying your identity, financial background, and checking for any criminal history.

Due diligence is vital for the integrity of the program, so expect a thorough review. It generally takes around 6–8 weeks, but the exact timeline can vary depending on the complexity of your case.
